Welcome Guest!
Coastie is a remote controlled boat (used on land) as a public affairs asset. The Auxiliary uses Coastie to bring the water and boating safety message to the public (mainly to children and their parents). The Coastie PQS requires four hours of classroom instruction and/or self-study. A proctored test is also required to be passed. Once you completed the exam, you must complete four hours of hands-on training working with Coastie as both a Director and an Operator (not in public). Teams of two are encouraged. The final qualification concludes with four hours of working with Coastie at a public event. This workshop covers both the classroom PQS requirements as well as some of the hands-on requirements.
